S&P 500 to include Dell, Palantir, and Erie Indemnity

The S&P Dow Jones Indices said on Friday that property and casualty insurer Erie Indemnity (ERIE.O), data analytics company Palantir Technologies (PLTR.N), and server maker Dell Technologies (DELL.N) would open new tabs and join the benchmark S&P 500 (.SPX) prior to the market opening on September 23.

In extended trading, Palantir’s shares increased by about 8%, while Dell and Erie’s shares increased by 6% and 3%, respectively.

The American Airlines Group (AAL.O), online marketplace Etsy (ETSY.O), and diagnostics company Bio-Rad Laboratories (BIO.N) will be replaced by the three companies, opening new tabs in the index.
